ModCell Secure DTi funding.

We are delighted to announce that we have secured just under £300k of research money from the DTi to take ModCell to market.

The research fund set up to support sustainable product development will help us move ModCell into the mainstream.

Our research partners are Bath University, The Centre for Window & Cladding Technology, Integral Structural Design, AgriFibre Technologies, Eurban Solid Timber, LimeTech and Salestar.

ModCell is a sustainable, prefabricated straw bale and hemp cladding panel designed for use in housing, schools, offices and commercial buildings.

The panels can be used as load-bearing walls or fitted into structural frames and used for their high insulation values. They are manufactured in a range of sizes to suit a wide range of building projects at various scales and types, both residential and commercial.

As well as saving time on site by speeding up construction, the use of prefabrication also reduces onsite waste.

Some examples of recent projects which include Modcellare the architectural design studios at the University of the West of England and the EcoDepot in York.
